Five favorites from our wedding registry

I thought the idea of having a wedding registry was outdated. I thought it was really weird and awkward to basically make a wishlist and share it out with the expectation that you wanted people to buy things off of it. After many conversations with relatives and friends about how excited they were to help us start our new lives together, especially since we would be moving into our first apartment together, I gave in and made one. Now that many of my friends have wedding registries of their own, I am a registry convert and see the value of having a list of things that my loved ones actually WANT and will use, and that I can easily gift to them. I’ll even go one step further - I wish that I could just have a registry for life, and that everyone in my life just had public wishlists. Gift giving is not my love language, but I’m trying to get better, and registries have made that easy for me.

I wanted to highlight five items that Ryan and I put on our registry, that are my absolute favorites and why.

  1. All Clad Pots & Pans - We put All Clad pots and pans on our registry and I am SO glad I did. I grew up in a non-non-stick pan household, and love the versatility of stainless steel. After doing some heavy research, these showed up time and time again as some of the best stainless steel pans you can find. The steel is super thick so it conducts heat extremely well and minimizes burning. Less burning also means less scraping off food bits and needing to let them soak for hours. We use these everyday, and I know that we will have them for our lifetime. Highly recommend!

  2. Cuisinart Electric Kettle - I just wanted to be like the Brits, and use an electric tea kettle. I use this everyday. I love that you can select from multiple pre-set temperatures (even though I’m an exclusive black tea drinker), and the stay warm setting. 10/10.

  3. Peugeot Salt & Pepper Grinder - I need freshly ground pepper on hand at all times. These are functional and beautiful, and we use them everyday.

  4. Vitamix - This is probably the one thing on this list of five favorites that we don’t use everyday, but when we do use it it brings me so much joy. From my parents Osterizer (the worst), to the Ninja blender I had in college, to immersion blenders, the Vitamix takes the cake.

  5. Towels - Specifically the Casaluna organic cotton towels from Target. A few things: I like matching towels. And I like them to be crisp white. Inevitably, towels get dingy and dirty over time. For these reasons, I wanted to pick out towels that checked the boxes of quality I was looking for (thick, organic cotton, minimal embellishments) while also being affordable and something that I could easily replace old towels with. These checked all those boxes and are still super fluffy and soft!
